Calculating Reviews

Reviews are particularly important for tradesmen/service providers and often their success on the platform depends on their ratings and history.

Even with the same number of positive ratings, tradesmen/service providers are ranked differently in the search results on the Directory pages.

To help the customer view results quickly, MyHammer automatically ranks companies according to “Best Ratings”.

I have just as many positive reviews as other tradesmen in my trade. Why are they listed higher in the search directory?	Select Show
Rankings are calculated from a number of different criteria. For example, newer reviews count more than older ones, and the job value is also important. The number of reviews in any given category is also vital for a higher ranking. Note: if a customer searches using a postcode, the tradespeople/service providers closest to that the postcode will also be ranked higher.

Tradesman/service providers who conduct most of their business in the same trade are better qualified for that category than others who only occasionally do those kinds of jobs. At MyHammer, we want to encourage better-qualified firms to have more success on the platform.
